A quick and easy homemade summer cocktail featuring bourbon, frozen cherries, and a touch of lemon juice, blended into a smooth, icy slush perfect for hot days and casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (240 ml) bourbon
  • 2 cups (300 g) frozen cherries
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) simple syrup
  • 1 to 1 ½ cups (240360 ml) ice cubes
  • Optional garnishes: fresh mint leaves, lemon wheel, extra cherries

Instructions

  1. Measure your ingredients: 1 cup bourbon, 2 cups frozen cherries, 2 tablespoons lemon juice, and 2 tablespoons simple syrup.
  2. Place frozen cherries and ice cubes (1 to 1 ½ cups) into the blender jar.
  3. Pour in bourbon, lemon juice, and simple syrup over the cherries and ice.
  4. Blend on high speed for 30-45 seconds until smooth and slushy, scraping down sides if needed.
  5. Check texture; if too thick, add a splash of cold water or more bourbon; if too thin, add more ice and blend briefly.
  6. Taste and adjust sweetness by adding more simple syrup if desired.
  7. Serve immediately in chilled tall glasses, garnished with fresh mint leaves or a lemon wheel.

Notes

Use frozen cherries for the best icy texture. Pulse blender in short bursts to avoid melting the ice. Chill glasses before serving for a colder drink. For a lighter version, substitute simple syrup with honey or agave. Rye whiskey can be used instead of bourbon for a spicier note. For a non-alcoholic version, replace bourbon with cherry juice or sparkling water.
