A vibrant, playful blue drink with a gummy shark floating in it, made with blue sports drink, lemon-lime soda, and fresh garnishes. Ready in about five minutes, it’s the perfect summer treat for kids and adults alike.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups (720 ml) blue sports drink or prepared blue raspberry Kool-Aid
  • 2 cups (480 ml) lemon-lime soda (like Sprite or 7Up)
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) blueberry juice or blue curacao syrup (optional)
  • 4 cups (about 1 liter) ice cubes, plus more for glasses
  • Gummy sharks (1 per glass)
  • Fresh blueberries and lemon slices (for garnish)
  • Optional: 1-2 ounces (30-60 ml) coconut rum or vodka per glass (for adult version)

Instructions

  1. Pour 3 cups of blue sports drink or prepared blue raspberry Kool-Aid into a large pitcher. If using blue curacao syrup, add 2 tablespoons now.
  2. Slowly pour in 2 cups of lemon-lime soda to keep carbonation.
  3. Stir gently with a long-handled spoon to combine without losing fizz.
  4. Fill the pitcher with about 4 cups of ice cubes.
  5. Drop in a handful of fresh blueberries and a few thin lemon slices.
  6. Fill each glass with fresh ice.
  7. Pour the drink into each glass, leaving about an inch of room at the top.
  8. Gently drop a gummy shark into each glass.
  9. Garnish each glass with a lemon slice and extra blueberries if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

Chill all ingredients beforehand for best results. Add gummy sharks just before serving to prevent them from getting soft. For a less sweet version, use club soda or sparkling water instead of lemon-lime soda and add a squeeze of fresh lemon. Leftovers can be stored without ice in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 24 hours; add fresh ice and a splash of soda when serving again.
