Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cooked, shredded chicken
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/3 cup marinara sauce, plus more for dipping
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 clove garlic, minced (or 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
  • Extra Parmesan cheese for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Make the filling: In a medium bowl, combine the shredded chicken, softened cream cheese, shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, 1/3 cup marinara sauce, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix until well combined and creamy.
  3. Prep the crescent dough: Open the can of crescent rolls. Unroll the dough and separate it into 8 triangles along the perforated lines. Place them on a clean work surface with the wide end facing you.
  4. Fill and roll: Spoon about 2 generous tablespoons of the chicken mixture onto the wide end of each triangle. Gently roll the dough up towards the point, tucking the filling inside as you go. Place each roll, point-side down, on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  5. Make the garlic butter: In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with the minced garlic (or garlic powder). Brush this mixture generously over the tops of each crescent roll. Sprinkle with a little extra Parmesan cheese and a pinch of dried parsley if desired.
  6. Bake: Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are deep golden brown and puffed up. The cheese should be bubbly and the bottoms should be crisp.
  7. Cool and serve: Let the rolls cool on the baking sheet for 2 to 3 minutes. Serve warm with extra marinara sauce for dipping, and garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

Don’t overfill the crescent rolls to prevent bursting. Use room temperature cream cheese for easier mixing. Let the rolls rest for a few minutes after baking to allow the filling to set. For a crispier bottom, bake on the middle rack and flip the rolls over for the last 2 minutes of baking.
