A quick and easy recipe for crispy, flavorful mushrooms cooked in an air fryer in just 15 minutes. Perfect as a snack or side dish with a satisfying crunch and tender inside.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 ounces (340 grams) fresh cremini or white button mushrooms, cleaned and dried
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • Optional: chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Rinse mushrooms quickly under cold water and immediately pat dry with paper towels or a clean towel.
  2. Trim stems if desired; leave cremini stems on unless woody, trim button mushroom stems for even cooking.
  3. Slice larger mushrooms in halves or quarters; smaller mushrooms can be left whole for uniform size.
  4. In a mixing bowl, toss mushrooms with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper until lightly coated.
  5. Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and run empty for 3 minutes.
  6. Arrange mushrooms in a single layer in the air fryer basket, avoiding overcrowding; cook in batches if necessary.
  7. Air fry for 7-8 minutes at 400°F (200°C), shaking the basket or flipping mushrooms halfway through cooking.
  8. Check for golden brown color with crispy edges and tender inside; cook an additional 2-3 minutes if needed, watching closely to avoid burning.
  9. Serve immediately, garnished with chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

Dry mushrooms thoroughly before cooking to ensure crispiness. Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket to prevent steaming. Shake or flip mushrooms halfway through cooking for even browning. Leftovers can be reheated in the air fryer at 350°F for 3-5 minutes to restore crispiness.
