This cozy blueberry milk tea is a warm, comforting drink made with simple ingredients like blueberries, milk, and black tea. It’s perfect for quiet evenings and feels like a hug in a mug.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1 cup milk (any kind, whole milk or oat milk recommended)
  • 1 black tea bag or 1 teaspoon loose leaf black tea
  • 1–2 teaspoons sweetener (honey, maple syrup, or simple syrup)
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Simmer the blueberries: Add the blueberries and 2 tablespoons of water to a small saucepan over medium heat. Mash gently with a spoon and simmer for 3-4 minutes until thick and jammy.
  2. Add the milk and tea: Pour in the milk and stir to combine. Heat over medium-low heat until steaming (do not boil). Add the tea bag and steep for 3-5 minutes.
  3. Sweeten and flavor: Remove the tea bag and squeeze out excess liquid. Stir in sweetener, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Adjust to taste.
  4. Strain and serve: Place a fine-mesh strainer over a mug and pour the milk tea through it. Press on the solids to extract all liquid. Discard solids.
  5. Optional – Froth the milk: Use a milk frother to create foam on top of the drink.
  6. Serve immediately: Enjoy warm.

Notes

Do not overcook the blueberries (3-4 minutes is ideal). Heat milk over medium-low heat to avoid scorching. Steep tea to your liking (2-5 minutes). Use a fine-mesh strainer to avoid gritty skins. Can be made iced by cooling and pouring over ice.
